Here at Safety Premiere Training we want to provide the best possible learning environment when preparing to obtain your Driver's License.  Both the classroom and driving instructions are taught by current and/or former Law Enforcement Officers with proficient knowledge of Louisiana Laws not always taught in  conventional classes.  Driving is taught one on one with the instructor, no other passengers to increase the possibilities of distraction and/or anxiety.


We will provide you with the tools and knowledge needed to obtain your driver's license!


About Driver's Education


R.Y.A.N. Act (Reduce Youth Accidents Now)

The R.Y.A.N. Act was named after Ryan Lee who died in a fatal vehicle crash at the age of 15.  A few short months after receiving his driver's license.


LA R.S. 32:402.1

A "driver education course" for any person under the age of eighteen, which shall consist of not less than eight hours of actual driving instruction and thirty hours of classroom instruction. A person shall not be allowed to receive more than four hours of actual driving instruction on any single calendar day.  The Department of Public Safety and Corrections, public safety services, shall establish rules and regulations to administer and define the requirements of the course.  The rules and regulations established by the Department of Public Safety and Corrections, public safety services, shall provide for instruction relative to the economic effects of littering.  Oversight review of these rules shall be conducted by the House and Senate committees on transportation, highways and public works in accordance with the Administrative Procedure Act.

Stage 1 - Learner's Permit
  • Must be at least 15 years old
  • ​Must complete 30 hours of classroom instruction
  • Must complete 8 hours of behind the wheel instruction
  • ​Pass a visual examination, a regulations and road signs test with minimum of 80%
  • ​Maintain Learner's Permit for a minimum of 180 days and cannot change to Intermediate License until 16th birthday.
  • Authorized to drive with one ​licensed parent, guardian, adult at least 21 years of age, or sibling at least 18 years of age.


Stage 2 - Intermediate License

  • ​​Must have completed Stage 1
  • ​Minimum 16 years of age
  • ​Pass the on-road driving test with 80% accuracy
  • ​Prohibited from driving between the hours of 11:00 am and 5:00 pm; unless accompanied by a driver at least 21 years of age​, or sibling at least 18 years of age
  • ​Prohibited from transporting more than one passenger under the age of 21 between the hours of 6:00 pm and 5:00 am
  • ​Must be maintained until 17th birthday


Stage 3 - Full License

  • Must complete Stages 1 and 2
  • Minimum of 17 years of age before obtaining first license
